Board Meets 1st Monday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall
The Planning Board of the Town of Urbana is charged with the following powers and duties as set forth in Article 16 of the Town Law:
- authorized and empowered to approve plats showing lots, blocks or sites, with or without streets or highways and to approve preliminary plats within that part of the Town outside the limits of the village and to pass and approve the development of plats already filed in the office of the Clerk if such plats are entirely or partially undeveloped.
- authorized and empowered to approve or disapprove changes in the lines of existing streets, highways or public areas shown on subdivision plats or maps filed in the office of the Clerk and the laying out, closing off or abandonment of streets, highways or public areas under the provisions of the Town and highway laws within that part of the Town outside the limits of the village.
- authorized simultaneously with the approval of any plat within that part of the Town outside the limits of any village to modify applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance.
